Polaroid-o-nizer shut down?

Friday, July 8th, 2005 at 8:16 pm

For the past week or so, I’ve been playing with a script and WP Plugin named Polaroid-o-nizer. It basically took any image I wanted and created a nice neat cropped polaroid out of it.

In recent light, it seems that the Polaroid Corporation may has shut down the Polaroid-o-nizer website, seeing as how they own the trademarks to the word Polaroid.

From the website:

Dear visitor,

Due to some legal issues concerning certain trademarks
we are unfortunatelly unable to continue this website
under its current name. This domain will probably
be cancelled or handed over any time soon.

Until that time you can download a copy of the script for
personal use.

Contact us at our new email address with any concerns or
questions you might have: ipod.oral@gmail.com

It really is sad to see such a large corporation with obvious legal rights over a word to attack a Wordpress Plugin with a name derived from theirs. But I suppose that’s the nature of copyrights in the first place. They have to “protect” their investments, even if that means shutting down a website operator who meant no harm in the first place.

No news is still, well.. news

Last night was very uneventful. Kari had to work until 11pm, and I, being the socially inept person I am sat at home most of the evening. I did attempt to head out to the beach to see fireworks, but found absolutely nowhere to park as it was very crowded. So I ended up cruising around, and finally came home which brought me right back to square one.

But I suppose in the end it turned out alright, as I got to see Kari when she got home from work. We sat around and played Golf (card game) for quite a while before heading off to bed.
