Lots of News

First things first. Kari is pregnant. We’ve known for a while now, I just haven’t said anything here. She’s about 2 months, maybe a little more. She’s already scheduled an appointment with the doctor for the beginning of June. We both hope it’s a girl, and if it is, her name will be Addison.

Second.. Her and I are both moving up to Wisconsin near the end of July. We feel it’s going to be a lot easier on us both if we do. Her dad will be able to watch the baby, and she’s got friends who could babysit as well. We’re both going broke down here, and things are much cheaper up there. It being country and all, it’ll definately be a change that is well needed. We’re going to be living with her parents for a few months till we can afford to get out on our own, then we’ll be moving into either a rented townhouse or purchasing a home of our own. Should be interesting.

Other things to say… This website and a few of my others will probably be shut down after this month since I don’t have enough money to pay for the hosting service. I’ve asked for donations from a site I’m hosting and have recieved some, but it’s not enough.

I don’t like to ask for money, but if anyone who reads this happens to want to donate some spare change my way, please feel free to do so.

Soo yeah, that’s about it for now.

Akismet now over 600 comment spam

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006 at 10:51 am

Since I’ve installed Akismet, many, many months ago, it has now caught over 600 spam messages. It’s accidently flagged only a handful of legit comments, which is pretty damn good considering the totals I now have..

I’d like to say thanks to the Wordpress team for keeping me (nearly) spam free!

Nothing to see here

Well, I’ve been surprisingly quiet around here lately. I havent posted in over a month. You could call it a hiatus if you’d like. I just haven’t felt the urge to say much of anything on here lately.

But alot has been happening in the past few months. Kari and I have moved in into our new apartment. Gated community, 2 pools, a gym, brand new appliances, it’s a very nice place.

We even got a puppy. She’s a Weimaraner, and her name is Josie.

I’ve also been hard at work on another Website of mine, Photobloging.com. It’s exactly as the domain implies, a photoblog of things in my life. There’s also some pictures of Josie on there.

Finally, in the coming month or so, there may be a site redesign here. If I feel like doing that.

Freedom of Press Unconstitutional?

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 at 9:08 am

According to a new bill proposed through congress, starting as early as next week(if this passes), it will be illegal to disclose information about the Administration and it’s eve’s dropping program.

“The draft would add to the criminal penalties for anyone who “intentionally discloses information identifying or describing” the Bush administration’s terrorist surveillance program or any other eavesdropping program conducted under a 1978 surveillance law.”

Penalties for the new bill, for those found guilty, could face fines of up 15 years in jail, up to $1 million, or even both!

“The bill would make it a crime to tell the American people that the president is breaking the law, and the bill could make it a crime for the newspapers to publish that fact,” said Martin, a civil liberties advocate.

“As a practical matter, would they use this to try to punish any newspaper or any broadcast? It essentially makes coverage of any of these surveillance programs illegal,” she said. “I’m sorry, that’s just not constitutional.”
